AXEL LINDERHOLM (SE)
In my artistic practice I strives for a point where my art both explains itself, and shares something with the viewer. The viewer should´t need to doubt what he is seeing. I believe painting should defend its position as something that speaks without talking and exist as a means for an expression outside of spoken language, an introspective meditation on the human condition.
The imagery and literature surrounding the werewolf in mythology is a rich source I have explored over the past few years. My paintings show figures that meet in the forest and in the city. Figures that transform and share thoughts on religion, death, truth, mystical principles and profound phenomena of the individuals strive for immortality.
